Dal Riada Climbing Club
Dal Riada Climbing Club was established in 1976 in Ireland. The name of the club: Dal Riada comes from the ancient Celtic kingdom which took in north east Antrim and part of Scotland. All of the founding members were very active in establishing new rock climbing routes at Fair Head at the time and the cliff has continued to be central to the club's activities. Above all else the club aims to promote trad climbing in Ireland. I was commissioned to design a logo for the club. The identity is modern and a little quirky. It brings a long established club into the age of Social Media! The shape of the logo draws on the huge narrow pillars that are unique to the Fairhead cliffs, in Co. Antrim. The colours in the logo mark reflect the tones of the cliff face.
